The first padel medals in Asian Games history have been decided, with gold going to Japan and Qatar. In Nagoya on October 3, Kae Tokumoto and Saki Tsukamoto won the women's title for the hosts, beating Indonesia's Fitriani Sabatini and Fadona Kusumawati 6-3, 6-4
The men's gold went to Qatar, where top-seeded brothers Mashari and Rashed Naif beat Malaysia's Aidan Yunus and Christian Chin 6-3, 6-1. The brothers also won the previous FIP Asia Padel Cup, and the next Asian Games, in 2030, will be held in Qatar
In the bronze-medal matches, Indonesia's Novela Putria and Beatrice Gumulya got past the Philippines' Abad and Malazarte in the women's event, while Iran's Amirmohammad Jamshidi and Farsad Shahi beat their compatriots Golestan and Roghani 6-3, 6-4 in the men's.
